Aquatics
The mission of Scouting Colorado’s Aquatics Committee is to provide safe, exciting and challenging aquatic experiences and training in support of individual Scouting units’ aquatic activities. The activities should at all times support the purposes of aquatics in Scouting:
- Give Youth Self-Confidence and Skills in Aquatics
- Instruct Youth in Self-Preservation, the Care and Use of Aquatic Equipment, and Rescue Methods
- Promote Aquatics Recreation
- Develop Physical Strength and Coordination
- Help Units Conduct Safe Aquatics Programs

Aquatics Extravaganza
Scouts can attend to earn Swimming Merit Badge, Lifesaving Merit Badge, other Scouting and Cub Scouting advancements. Check out the Feb 28th, 2026. Registration. AQUATICS EXTRAVAGANZA!
Start Time Varies with Activity
Swimming Merit Badge: 8:30 am to Noon
Livesaving Merit Badge: 9:00 am to 3:30 pm
General Aquatics Activities
Session 1: 12:45 to 2:15 pm
Session 2: 3:00 to 4:45 pm
Cost
Swimming Merit Badge: $8
Lifesaving Merit Badge: $12
Afternoon Sessions: $5
Lunch: $5
All of the above are payable at the door.

Canoe Trailers
- 6 canoes
- 15-20 paddles of varying sizes
- 15 PFDs, but it is advisable that units have supply some of their own to ensure everyone has the right size
- Additional gear such as bowlines, etc.
- Storage space for water jugs, etc.
- One of the adult leaders at the unit’s event has the Aquatics Supervision certifications (Swimming & Water Rescue and Paddle craft Safety). We will be listing dates soon for next year. If you have 4 or more people who would like to attend, send an email to ship324@scouts324.com for more info.
- The vehicle driver needs to have experience towing a trailer, as they are responsible for it and its contents as soon as it is attached to their vehicle.

- Interested in SCUBA ACTIVITIES TRIPS AND AQUATIC EVENTS – If your unit does scuba and you would like to do more, including Sea Base scuba, and other trips, please send an email to ship324@scouts324.com with your contact or unit’s contact. (If you have a trip, you or your unit are doing and want to share or need an addition person to back-fill, please feel free to send email). We are hoping to be able to have an informal Scuba Interest “Club” to share trips and opportunities among our fellow bubble blowers, this includes snorkelers and free divers.
