Training
Empowering Leaders. Enriching Youth. Strengthening Scouting.
At Scouting Colorado, we believe trained leaders deliver the best possible program to our Scouts. Whether you’re a new volunteer or a seasoned Scouter, there’s always more to learn, share, and experience.
Step One: Required Training
Every registered adult must complete Youth Protection Training (YPT) before participating in any Scouting activity. YPT is available online and must be renewed every two years.
Start at my.scouting.org and visit the Training Center to access your required courses.
Position-specific training ensures you’re ready for your role:
- Cub Scout Leaders: Den Leader, Cubmaster, Pack Committee
- Scouts BSA Leaders: Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, Committee Member
- Venturing, Sea Scouts, Exploring Advisors
- Merit Badge Counselors
Step Two: Supplemental and Advanced Training
